My Top Vegan Snacks

I could easily sit here and tell you that my diet is perfect, I only eat natural and organic foods and right now I am in fact gnawing on big fat piece of lettuce. But as you’ve probably guessed, that is not true. I love chocolatey treats and mouth-watering sweets as much as I did before I turned vegan. I have tried and tested many vegan snacks and I want to let you know my favourites so you are not left penniless buying every product to figure out what you like best. You may not like the same food as me, but I guess if you are new to veganism it gives you a little head start of what to expect! So, in no particular order,

1) Lemon Drizzle Naked Bar

I ADORE the naked brand because not only do the bars taste amazing, the primary ingredients are just fruit and nuts. They are honestly just as delicious and satisfying as any other chocolate bar you could find, but these bars are completely good for you. BONUS! There are so many flavours to choose from but the lemon drizzle really does take my top spot! Sadly, these are limited edition but I think they will continue them. They are just too tasty to let go.

2) HIP PEAS – IN HERBS WE TRUST

As a vegan, you can still eat some crisp flavours like ready salted and salt and vinegar, but they can become slightly boring for your poor ol’ taste buds. Just like the naked bars, they are all made with natural ingredients but are jam packed with that wonderfully herby taste you can’t really get from basic crisp flavours. Not that it matters when you are having a treat but they are also only 91 calories, which is a fraction of the calories of a regular packet of crisps.

3) Trek – Cocoa Oat Flap Jack

If you have a monster of a sweet tooth like me, you will understand the pure pain of trying to find something as satisfying enough as a slice of cake to keep that sweet tooth at bay. That is why these flap jack bars are a life saver. They are packed with protein and actually leave you feeling full without craving for anything extra. The generous amount of chocolate on top of the bar coupled with those crumbly oats, really does fulfil that sweetie need you desire. And guess what? It is not only vegan, but also gluten free!

4) Alpro Chocolate milk

Alpro really did bless us with this. If you still think you’re an 8-year-old child with a lunch box like me, you will be happy to know they come in little sizeable cartons for all you on-the-go ‘adults’. I am not sure if this is considered a snack but it always a treat I love, so I will break the rules especially for the chocy milk.DSC_0752
